We offer peels from various medical grade brands including ZO Obagi, SkinCeuticals, Neostrata, and PCA.
What is a chemical peel?
The phrase can sound intimidating, but a chemical peel is simply a gentle way of exfoliating dead surface skin to address various issues such as acne, sun damage, dry dehydrated skin and promote anti-aging. Big Sky Dermatology offers various types and strengths of peels which include no-downtime aka “lunch time” peels up to more aggressive TCA containing brands, which produce faster results. Many of our peels are a glycolic acid base.
What is Glycolic acid and how does it work?
Glycolic acid is a smallest molecule of the alpha-hydroxy acid family (AHA) that helps promote cell turnover by dissolving the substance that holds the layers skin cells together and also stimulating collagen producing an anti-aging effect.
Why do I need to speed up cell turnover?
Keratin is the substance that helps hold our layers of skin cells together. When there is an overabundance of this, it can lead to clogged pores, dry feeling skin, and poor barrier function. By helping to unstick the cells, dead skin is then exfoliated off and new fresh skin cells can then come to the surface.

Brightening: 30% citric acid base helps break up unwanted pigmentation over time
Clarifying: a combination of 30% mandelic and 30% citric to help with sebum oil control and improve the look of discoloration from acne scarring.
