Photodynamic (Blue Light) Therapy is a safe and non-invasive treatment for Acne and for pre-cancerous lesions called actinic keratoses. Treatment involves exposing skin to specific wavelengths of light (blue light), which kills Acne bacteria and decreases inflammation. When used in combination with a topical treatment called Levulan Blue light will treat pre-cancerous cells. Each treatment requires only 17 minutes of light exposure and leaves your skin looking clearer and healthier over time. Big Sky Dermatology has acquired and Iridex Aura system for laser therapy. The Aura laser is effective for removal of age spots, sun spots, and vascular lesions, including spider veins or other red discolorations of the skin. Treatment is quick, non-invasive, and effective. After laser treatment, skin coloration is generally more even.
